Admissions Process

Because of the myriad of choices, finding the right school in Chicago can be daunting. You may be starting your first child in preschool and want guidance in what you should be looking for. You may have just moved to the city and were at a school you loved and are hoping to replicate that experience in your family's next chapter. You may have been at your neighborhood school and realized it was not the best fit for your child. Wherever you are coming from, it is our goal to partner with you in determining whether Daystar is the best fit for your family.

Steps To Enroll

For 1st through 12th grade applications, additional supporting documents are required as we strive to determine whether your child will thrive at Daystar. Our desire is to best understand how your child learns and the environment where they best grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Depending on your child's age and grade, the information listed below will aid the admissions team in processing their application.

End of Year Report Card / Progress Report - If your child as been in a classroom environment previously this will help our admissions team see their academic standing and their teacher's observations about their learning.

Standardized Test Scores - Standardized testing is often done throughout the year. Submitting the most recent standardized test scores enables Daystar's admissions team to further understand your child's academic strengths and challenges.

Teacher & Principal Recommendation - Recommendations provide a qualitative reflection of your child provided by someone who understands their current academic skills and their mindset when it comes to learning.
