Snack & Lunch
Be sure your child comes to school each day with a water bottle, snack, and lunch. A few key things:
- A snack ideally is something that will be a great mid-morning nourishment to give them energy until lunch.
- We are a peanut free school and nut free preschool - sun butter is our friend!
- Lunch should also be a nourishing meal to give your child the nutrients needed to get through the rest of the day.
Hot lunches must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance. You can order hot lunch at the link below. Hot lunches arrive daily.

Sickness
When a child is not well he/she should be kept at home until it is determined that no contagious disease is present. Children who have vomited, had diarrhea, or had a fever should stay at home at least 24 hours after he/she last vomited and/or after there is no longer a fever or signs of a fever (without the use of a fever-reducing medicine). Keeping sick children home means that they keep their viruses to themself, rather than sharing them with others. A child will need to be picked up if he/she has:
- A temperature of 100 or higher
- Any undiagnosed rash
- Diarrhea
- Throwing Up
- Conjunctivitis
- Head lice
Early Dismissal
Please let the front desk and your child's teacher know (Office: frontdesk@daystaracademy.org / 312.791.0001) prior to coming to pick up your child so that we can have them ready and ensure they are not off campus (ex. park).
Note: All early dismissals must happen before 2:30 pm (12:30 Wednesdays).
